Apple releases enhanced digital copies of 'Harry Potter' on iBooks
Harry Potter's magic is coming to Apple's devices.
Apple announced Thursday that it's releasing digitally enhanced editions of all "Harry Potter" books on iBooks. The enhanced novels will have interactive animations, new custom covers and even annotations from J.K. Rowling.
"I'm thrilled to see the Harry Potter books so beautifully realized on iBooks for the digital world; the artwork and animations in these enhance editions bring the stories alive in a delightful new way," Rowling said in a statement.
The enhanced editions will be available in English for $9.99 each on the iBook store beginning Oct. 8. Enhanced editions in French, German and Spanish will be available on Nov. 9, but can already be pre-ordered.
Prior to Apple's exclusive release, the digital book copies were only available on the Pottermore shop, which is part of Rowling's dedicated website to all things Harry Potter.
Anyone with an iPod Touch, iPhone or an iPad will be able to download and read the enhanced editions, according to nydailynews.com.
