Famous physicist Sargis Karamyan drowns in Antalya
Famous Russian physicist of Armenian descent Sargis Karamyan drowned a few days ago in Antalya, Turkey, Ermenihaber.com reported citing Turkey’s Sondakika news agency.
S. Karamyan was one of the most prominent researchers at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, a town 120 km north of Moscow.
He became known for his work in the field in nuclear physics and was honored with numerous awards. Karamyan was born in 1940 in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). He was married, with two daughters.
