President Sargsyan: Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with La Francophonie
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Secretary General of International Organization of La Francophonie Michaelle Jean, to the presidential press service reports.
The president welcomed the guest and said he is glad to hold a meeting in Armenia, as part of the 31st session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francohonie. He stressed that it is a great honor and responsibility for Yerevan to host that significant event.
According to the president, Armenia is one of the most active participants in the Francophonie. He stated that Armenia remains committed to the values unifying the Francophonie family and attaches great importance to cooperation with La Franciphonie, its partner organizations, and the Parliamentary Assembly.
Michaelle Jean thanked the president for the warm reception and the successful organization of the session. She said that despite the rich agenda, the most important issues were discussed in Yerevan, while Armenia-initiated name for the current session of Ministerial Conference was symbolic and topical.
M. Jean said Armenia occupies a special place in the alliance of Francophonie member states, noting that new opportunities and horizons for cooperation will open for Armenia within the framework of the Organization.
