Armenia and EU to start negotiations on new agreement before the end of 2015
At the meeting held in Luxembourg yesterday, on October 12, the Council of the European Union authorized the European Commission and the High Representative to open negotiations on a new, legally binding and overarching agreement with Armenia, and adopted the corresponding negotiating mandate, according to the website of the EU.
This agreement will replace the current EU-Armenia partnership and cooperation agreement.
The EU is committed to further develop and strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Armenia in all areas of mutual interest within the Eastern Partnership framework. The official launching of negotiations is envisaged to take place before the end of the year.
