President of Union of Armenians of Russia gives reason for running in Armenian parliamentary elections
“I have decided to run in the next parliamentary elections in Armenia. A lot of people are now working with me, with programs being developed,” President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan said at a press conference today.
In his words, he is considering two possible ways of running in the parliamentary elections: he will either set up his political party or join an already existing one.
“The creation of a new party is the most likely option, but I do not rule out that I will stand in the elections as member of one of the currently existing parties,” Ara Abrahamyan said, adding that the final decision will be taken in March.
Abrahamyan stressed that although there are numerous problems in Armenia, he is not going to criticize anyone, but his aim is to help solve those problems.
The president of the Union of Armenians of Russia said he has decided to try to work out a program over a short period of time, and that program should be acceptable to the Armenian people and help deal with the problems of Armenia.
