Will Union of Armenians of Russia president Ara Abrahamyan be member of next parliament? - PM’s answer
It is the people who determine the outcome of a parliamentary election in Armenia: if people vote for Ara Abrahamyan, he will become a deputy of the National Assembly, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said during a briefing today when asked if he sees President of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) Ara Abrahamyan as a member of the next parliament.
“I’ve said on several occasions that I have no problems with any of the political figures,” the premier said.
To remind, it emerged on October 14 that President of UAR Ara Abrahamyan intends to run in the 2017 parliamentary elections in Armenia. Ara Abrahamyan said at a press conference in Yerevan that he considers two possible ways of running in the parliamentary elections – he will either set up his political party or join an already existing one in Armenia. He stressed that although there are numerous problems in Armenia, he has no intention of criticizing anyone, but he aims to help solve those problems.
