Winter in the middle of autumn: Heavy snow in Syunik province of Armenia
Heavy snow fell today in Armenia’s Syunik province, in particular the cities of Goris and Kajaran. The deputy chief of the weather service of Ministry of Territorial Administration Gagik Surenyan told Panorama.am that snow piles reached 2 meters in Kajaran.
“It was sleeting in Goris and Kajaran. 47 mm of precipitation fell,“ he said, noting that the weather service earlier forecast a sharp drop in temperatures and heavy precipitation in Syunik.
As for the weather in the next few days, Surenyan said precipitation is not expected in Armenia in the next 5 days, and temperatures will rise by 4-6 degrees in most regions. Temperatures are likely to rise by 8 degrees in Lori, Tavush and Syunik provinces.
