American musicians to perform works by Armenian composers in Boston
A concert of vocal music written by Armenian composers is scheduled for November 1 in Boston. The concert will feature American musicians, according to the press service of the Union of Composers of Armenia.
Successful creative contacts have been established between the Union of Composers of Armenia and the Armenian Library and Museum of America (Boston) in the past year thanks to an agreement between the chairman of the Union of Composers Aram Satyan and the museum director Berj Chekijian.
In the past year, the museum in cooperation with the Union of Composers of Armenia has organized a festival of modern Armenian chamber music and a concert to commemorate the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
At the November 1 concert, famous Bostonian vocal ensemble will perform works by composers Komitas, Yekmalyan, Kotoyan, Adjemyan, Varytazaryan, Ashot Satyan, Mavisakalyan, Satunts, Yerznkyan, Aram Satyan, Hekimyan, Avetisyan, Abrahamyan, and others. Composer Konstantin Petrosyan is the artistic director of all the events.
