FORMER NBA star Lamar Odom has reportedly now left his hospital bed and has made a remarkable turnaround after he collapsed in a brothel last week, according to express.co.uk.

The 35-year-old has been hospitalised in Las Vegas since last Tuesday, after he was found unconscious following an alleged "drink and drug-fuelled binge".

However, despite Lamar still being incredibly weak, The Los Angeles Times has reported that he is now "conversational" and able to speak sentences and send text messages.

E! News also added that the sportsman - who has had the Kardashian clan, including ex wife Khloe united around his bedside since the collapse - has now been helped out of his bed and into a chair.

A source told the publication: "This is great progress but there is always the possibility for setbacks."

Lamar is also reportedly able to breathe on his own without a ventilator and has passed a critical swallow test.

The news of the former basketball player's breakthrough comes after the Kardashian clan took to social media to post encouraging and inspirational messages about his miraculous recovery.

Sharing a throwback photo of herself and the athlete dancing at her previous wedding to Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian said: "I have faith in you.

"I believe in the power of prayer and positive energy. Thank you all for your prayers. Lammy - I'm so happy Kendall and I could make you smile today. God is good."
