K. Nahapetyan: Azerbaijani delegation just reiterated old theses at NATO PA session in Stavanger
During the NATO Parliamentary Assembly session held in Stavanger, Norway, on October 9-12 the delegation of Armenia’s National Assembly presented proposals regarding a number of adopted resolutions. The head of the Armenian delegation Koryun Nahapetyan said at a press conference today that the proposals were mostly related to providing assistance to the partner states who accepted Syrian refugees.
“Armenia alone accepted about 17 thousand refugees from Syria,” Nahapetyan noted.
According to Nahapetyan, the Azerbaijani delegation behaved as usual at the sitting of NATO PA Political Committee.
“The Azerbaijani delegation presented their traditional wordings concerning the Karabakh conflict, and nothing new was said. It should be mentioned that the chairman interrupted the Azerbaijani delegate when the issue under discussion went beyond the agenda. The impression was that everyone was already tired of hearing the same statements,” K. Nahapetyan recalled, noting that the Azerbaijani delegation ignored the work of the PA, except for the sitting of the Political Committee.
On the whole, the activities of the NATP PA session were favorable for Armenia, Koryun Nahapetyan said.
