Hraparak: Son of Gagik Ghazinyan gets new position at ENA Company
‘Hraparak’ paper says that a new Kentron (Central) subsidiary of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) Company was set up through the merger of 4 branches. David Ghazinyan, previously director of Musaler branch, has been appointed as director of Kentron. He is the son of Gagik Ghazinyan, the dean of Law Department of Yerevan State University, a member of the Commission on Constitutional Reform. ENA employees, however, say that David Ghazinyan’s appointment is due not so much to his influential father as his godfather – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
There is an atmosphere of tension and panic at Kentron subsidiary. The new head is accompanied by bodyguards and cars. Employees expect that they either will be dismissed after receiving benefits equal to three-month salaries or be transferred to the reserve for a future dismissal. The rest who remain were told they will get higher salaries. Until now they received salaries of 90-100 thousand drams a month, as well as bonuses of 40-50 thousand drams in case of the company’s good performance.
