Hraparak: Prosperous Armenia Party not to recall two MPs from standing committees now
The coordinator of the political council of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Abraham Manukyan is unaware whether MPs Elinar Vardanyan and Stepan Margaryan will be recalled from standing committees of the Armenian parliament, according to ‘Hraparak’ paper.
“They were and remain our colleagues, and the political council of the party will hold a meeting soon to discuss that issue. In any case, there is no such issue on the agenda, it was not considered,” Manukyan told ‘Hraparak’.
The paper notes that PAP decided to recall E. Vardanyan and S. Margaryan from an Armenian delegation to international organizations after they did not participate in the parliamentary vote on the constitutional reform. Elinar Vardanyan is chairwoman of the parliament’s standing committee on human rights protection and public affairs, while Stepan Margaryan is the head of the standing committee on territorial administration and local government.
“In reality, Prosperous Armenia Party changed its mind because it is a rather serious process that includes a secret ballot, and even some members of PAP faction spoke against that,” the paper says.
