We will manage to avoid power tariff rise in Armenia in 2016, PSRC head says
It is still early to speak about a revision of electricity tariffs in Armenia in 2016, but I think we will manage to avoid it, Chairman of Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) Robert Nazaryan said during a briefing in the parliament today.
Prior to the briefing, the commission head said at a sitting of the parliamentary standing committee on economic affairs that luckily, the current year was not droughty.
As was reported, the new owner of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) Company, President of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan pledged to take measures aimed at avoiding a rise in power tariffs. “We are going to cut ENA’s expenses through concentration of the company’s resources, including a reduction in electricity losses, thanks to which it will become possible to avoid a rise in electricity tariffs in the future,” he said.
