Defense Ministry of NKR: Defense Army halts offensive operations of Azerbaijani troops
An increase in the number of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani troops was reported yesterday, on October 23, and the night of October 24 on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, the press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic said.
Over the indicated period Azerbaijani frontline units used artillery weapons, including TR-107 rocket launcher (3 shells), 60mm (39 shells) and 82mm mortars (68 shells), and RPG-7 (2 shells) and AGS-17 grenade launchers (17 shells).
The most intensive violations of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan were reported in the eastern and northeastern directions of the line of contact.
Over that period the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire about 90 times on the line of contact. Over 2,000 shots were fired at Armenian positions.
The offensive operations of Azerbaijani troops were halted as a result of preventive actions of Defense Army of NKR.
