Energy minister: Re-launch of Vanadzor Khimprom CJSC under consideration
Back wages of Vanadzor Khimprom CJSC workers will be paid in full by December 15, Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan said in the parliament today in response to a question of MP Edmon Marukyan about the fate of the enterprise and repayment of its workers’ back wages.
The minister recalled that issues related to Vanadzor Khimprom were also discussed at the recent consultation held by President Serzh Sargsyan. Governor of Lori province participated in the consultation.
According to the minister, the president gave instructions to conduct studies and discuss with Vanadzor Khimprom’s shareholders the schedule of repaying back wages. “The workers have already received their wages for two months, and the debt will be paid off by December 15,” Zakharyan said.
Besides, according to him, the president said that proposals should be developed to decide on the further use of the plant’s production capacities. Studies are now being conducted, and after their completion, proposals will be submitted to the president and government regarding the future status of Vanadzor Khimprom, the minister said.
