Haykakan Zhamanak: US embassy requests additional information about activist cases
The U.S. embassy in Yerevan asked the Armenian government to provide additional information about the criminal cases opened against activists in connection with the June 23 events on Bagramyan Avenue.
An embassy employee told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ paper that they want to get information about the scale of the investigation to make sure that the use of disproportionate force by police is being investigated at the same level as the cases of activists. The embassy said it expects a transparent and professional investigation of activists’ cases by the police and the appropriate agencies.
