Expert: Edogan turned Turkey into a country of chaos in three months
From July to November, developments previously unseen before or after Turkey’s elections have taken place in that country, Turkoogist Andranik Ispiryan said at a press conference today when commenting on the situation ahead of the snap parliamentary elections in Turkey.
“Turkish President Erdogan has plunged Turkey into chaos, also straining relations between ethnic Kurds and Turks. He completely disgraced himself because of his foreign policy. He allocated much funds for the removal of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but Turkey’s efforts proved futile after Russia’s operations in Syria,” Ispiryan noted.
The expert said that a difficult economic situation emerged in Turkey: the national currency depreciated by about 20% in the past three months, unemployment is on the rise, and tourism has been affected – the hotels are empty.
According to Ispiryan, this process demonstrates Turkey’s regression. The upcoming parliamentary elections will differ from the previous ones in their unpredictability, he noted.
Ispiryan added that studies on the upcoming elections were carried out in Turkey. “There are special vehicles, in which completed and sealed ballots will be kept. Those ballots will be placed in ballot boxes,” he said.
Another speaker at the press conference – Turkologist Hakob Chakryan said: “Erdogan is trying to expand presidential powers at any price so as to be able to control executive power. He expects to see a picture similar to the situation at the June 7 elections”.
