Russian military base in Armenia hosts conference on road accident prevention
A conference on the prevention of road accidents took place in the House of Officers of the Russian military base in the Armenian city of Gyumri, according to the press service of Russia’s Southern Military District (SMD).
Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Kuznetsov, deputy chief of the 18th regional military traffic police of SMD, was in charge of the conference work.
Military commanders, employees of the military traffic police and the prosecutor’s office of SMD, Armenian traffic policemen, and about 300 servicemen, their family members and the civilian personnel of Yerevan’s and Gyumri’s garrisons participated in the conference to discuss efficiency of work to ensure traffic safety and reduce the rate of road accidents.
During the event a video was shown to explain how to install an infant car seat in a vehicle. The participants received information about the changes in administrative legislation, and road accident statistics.
Leaflets with useful information for both drivers and pedestrians were distributed to conference participants.
Such training events aimed at preventing accidents on Armenian roads are conducted with the Russian military base personnel twice a year.
