Budget allocations reduced for Armenian presidential staff
By the draft state budget of Armenia for 2016, it is planned to allocate 4 billion drams for the Armenian presidential staff, Chief of the Armenian President’s Staff Vigen Sargsyan said during the draft budget discussions held by the Armenian parliament’s standing committee on state and legal affairs.
In his words, this index is by 22 million drams or 0.5% less than the presidential staff allocations in 2015.
70 programs are to be implemented in 2016 under the program of assisting NGOs, Vigen Sargsyan said. NGOs are being examined carefully so as to ensure targeted funding. “Stricter supervisory functions were introduced,” he said.
As was reported, the parliament of Armenia on November 2 conducted a joint sitting of the standing committees to debate the draft state budget for 2016. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said the state budget will continue to be socially oriented, which is evident from the fact that half of the budgetary expenditures for 2016 are expenses on education, social protection, and healthcare.
