European Union to provide grants of 24 million euros to Armenia, deputy finance minister says
The European Union will provide grants of 24 million euros to Armenia in 2016, First Deputy Finance Minister of Armenia Pavel Safaryan said in the parliament today during debates of the 2016 draft state budget at a joint sitting of the standing committee on European integration and the standing committee on financial and credit and budgetary affairs.
He said 24 million euros will be allocated for implementation of three programs, including a program aimed at assisting the government with preparatory work as part of a new agreement between Armenia and the EU.
“The cost of that program totals 21 million euros. The first tranche of 7 million euros will be released in the second quarter of 2016, which is reflected in the draft state budget for next year, and a second tranche of 7.8 million euros will be received in the second quarter of 2017,” the deputy minister said.
