Elderly woman sought by Armenian police possibly crossed into Azerbaijan
At 2:19 am on November 8 the Armenian police received a call that Lusine Noriki Abovyan, a 76-year-old female resident of Armenia’s Tavush border province did not return after leaving her house. The police have been looking for the woman, according to the press service of the Armenian police.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijani news agency Trend reported today citing Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan: “An Armenian citizen – 73-year-old resident of Armenia’s Noyemberian region Lusine Ghukasi Abovyan – was detained on the line of contact between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Karabakh. On November 8 she violated the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border in the direction of Gazakh region. She was detained by frontline units of Azerbaijan”.
The Azerbaijani media outlet also said that the Armenian citizen is being treated in accordance with rules of international law, and she will be handed over to the Armenian side following the relevant procedures.
