Armenian Defense Ministry strongly condemned the Azerbaijani side’ s most recent actions of a terrorist nature, according to the press service of Defense Ministry.

Around 9:00 pm on November 12 servicemen Vahe Vanoyan, 20, and Mikael Torosyan, 19, died of gunshot wounds on the frontline position of a military unit of Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the southern direction of the line of contact with Azerbaijani troops after the Azerbaijani side opened fire. An investigation is underway, the press service of NKR Defense Ministry said.  

“Being aware that such actions will not remain without a consequence and the guilty will be punished, Azerbaijan’s military and political leadership once again escalated the situation. At the same time we call attention to the fact that Azerbaijan is intensifying day by day its steps on destabilization of the situation on the line of contact – following the electoral processes in that country and the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs to the region, which again shows the destructive position of Azerbaijani authorities on the Karabakh conflict settlement and their disregard for calls of the mediatory missions and norms of  international law,” Armenian Defense Ministry said in statement, also offering heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the killed soldiers.
