Haykakan Zhamanak: Representatives of authorities to take opposition’s seats in election commissions
Armenian National Congress (ANC) and Heritage Party – both are opposition forces represented in the Armenian parliament – have failed to appoint their representatives as commission members at the 1,997 polling stations set up in Armenia before the constitutional reform referendum, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily writes.
“ANC that makes part of ‘No’ Front opposing the constitutional amendments did not appoint its members in 245 precinct commissions, while Heritage Party, which joined the New Armenia public salvation front, did not appoint its members in 118 precinct commissions,” the paper says adding that its correspondent was informed by Head of Armenia’s Central Election Commission Tigran Mukuchyan that the vacant seats in election commissions will be filled by representatives of the authorities.
