Defense Minister Ohanyan: Armenia has always organized successful defense with small force
Throughout its history, Armenia has always succeeded in organizing reasonable defense and accomplishing its tasks with a small force, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at a festive event held today at the Musaler Memorial Complex in Armenia’s Armavir province to mark the 100th anniversary of the heroic self-defense of Musa Dagh.
“The heroic battle of Musa Dagh highlighted our unity. Not only military, but also fidains (editor: participants in the national liberation movement), volunteers, and the entire people were involved in the struggle. It is a kind of Sardarapat (editor: the heroic Battle of Sardarapat) when our unity was displayed,” S. Ohanyan stressed.
In his words, such heroic examples should be cited when educating the Armenian people. “Ideological education is important in terms of preventing aggression,” Ohanyan said.
