Armenia stands by France: E. Nalbandyan offers condolences to French people on Paris terror attacks
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan has offered condolences to the French people over a series of terror attacks in Paris on Friday evening, according to the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry.
“Armenia stands by France. We strongly condemn the monstrous terror attacks in Paris. We express our condolences and support to the friendly people of France. The fight against terrorism is the fight of the entire civilized world,” Edward Nalbandyan said in a statement.
Gunmen opened fire in multiple Paris locations on Friday evening, resulting in several casualties. Explosions were also heard nearby. Over 150 people have been killed, according to French authorities. Five terrorists reportedly are among the dead, while an unknown number of attackers are still at large. Military are patrolling the streets of Paris. Attacks occurred in at least seven locations, including the Les Halles shopping mall, the Louvre, the football stadium, and the Bataclan concert hall, where hostages were taken. French President Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency and closed the country’s borders.
