Armenian parliament debates Protocol on Import and Turnover of Commodities in EAEU Territory
During an extraordinary sitting convened today at the initiative of the government, the Armenian parliament started debating the Protocol on Some Issues related to the Import and Turnover of Commodities in the Customs Space of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Armenian First Deputy Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Suren Karayan said the protocol determines specifics of the regulation of the import and turnover of certain goods in EAEU customs territory in connection with Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO.
In particular, the matter concerns those goods, on which Kazakhstan – after joining the WTO - will apply customs duties different from the common customs duties of the EAEU. These commodities, on whose import Kazakhstan will impose lower customs duties since the date of its accession to WTO, will be used only within that country.
The Republic of Kazakhstan takes necessary measures to prevent the export of such goods to other EAEU member states, Suren Karayan said.
