Zhoghovurd: Air Armenia declared bankrupt
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper says that the tragic situation in Armenia’s aviation sector is a known reality. “Following the bankruptcy of Armavia, Air Armenia submitted an application for becoming the national carrier and launched air transport services from the autumn of 2013, but a year later it stopped operating regular flights. In August 2015 the airline announced that it would solve its financial problems soon and resume its flights,” the newspaper writes.
The paper learned yesterday that on November 2 the general jurisdiction court of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash communities declared Air Armenia CJSC bankrupt based on a suit filed by HSBC. The airline’s assets were seized, and the list of its creditors is being specified.
