Shavarsh Kocharyan has no serious expectations from possible meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents
One can have expectations from a possible meeting of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, only in one case: if the Azerbaijani side gives up its ‘all or nothing’ approach and stops trying to achieve an advantageous solution by acting from a position of strength, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told journalists today.
In his words, as long as Azerbaijan does not do that, there can be no serious expectations. But it does not mean that presidential meetings are unnecessary. “Meetings and talks are held even with belligerent countries,” he said. As regards the exact date and venue of the presidential meeting, S. Kocharyan said information about it will be released later.
