Shirvan Liberation Front voices full support to ‘brothers in Nardaran’
As a result of the bloodshed unleashed by the ‘Baku tyrant’ and the ‘religious leaders serving him,’ the fearless sons of the Parsi nation (Tats, Daghlis) died as they were fighting bravely against the oppressors, the organisation Shirvan Liberation Front said in a statement published on its official Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Sirvanlibfront/?fref=photo.
“Baku authorities have always viewed our Parsi (Tat, Daghli) nation solely as an object of ridicule, assimilating or appropriating our thousand-year-old civilisation on this land created by us,” the statement reads.
The organisation also notes the scornful attitude towards the Parsi (Tat, Daghli) nation reflected in Azerbaijani folklore. “’Turn the Tat over, beat the Tat.’ Here is a proverb truly reflecting the attitude towards our great nation in so-called Azerbaijan,” Shirvan Liberation Front says.
Further, the organisation calls Baku authorities ‘unlawful, antinational, blasphemous and pan-Turkic’ and says they oppress not only the national, but also the traditional religious endeavours of the Parsi (Tat, Daghli) nation. Therefore, Shirvan Liberation Front considers it inexpedient to abide by them.
The Front also expresses its deepest condolences with the shehids’ families and voices its full support to the ‘brave brothers in Nardaran.’
Summing up, Shirvan Liberation Front, as the political organisation of the Parsi (Tat, Daghli) nation in Shirvan, states that it will continue to struggle with all its might to establish Parsi republic of Shirvan in the territories of Absheron, Khizi, Siazan, Gobustan, Quba and Khachmaz districts occupied by modern-day Azerbaijani Republic.
“Our shehids’ blood will not remain on the ground!” the statement reads.
On 26 November, an armed clash occurred between the leader of the Shia Islamists of Azerbaijan, Taleh Bagirzade (Taleh Bagirov), and his supporters and the police in the settlement Nardaran 25 km to the north from Baku. Reportedly, police carried out the special operation during the daytime prayer inciting the believers’ strong discontent. A group of Special Forces in black masks broke into the shrine Huseyniyye, where Muslims were praying, and threw smoke bombs inside. Then they pushed black sacks on Taleh Bagirzade and some others’ heads and dragged them out of the place. In addition, some drugs were given to several people, which made them faint. Immediately after that, mass unrest broke out in Nardaran with people gathering on a spontaneous demonstration.
