Rally of constitutional reform opponents starts in Yerevan
A rally convened by ‘New Armenia’ Public Salvation Front started in Yerevan’s Liberty Square a short time ago. The rally participants are opposed to the constitutional reform in Armenia.
As is known, the Front includes Founding Parliament civic initiative, ‘Stand Up, Armenia’ civil movement, and opposition Heritage Party. Among those standing on the podium are Raffi Hovannisian, Armen Martirosyan, Zhirayr Sefilyan, Garegin Chugaszyan, Hmayak Hovhannisyan, Andreas Ghukasyan, Petros Makeyan, and Sos Gimishyan.
“Respectable citizens of Armenia, we invited you here to discuss the current domestic political situation in Armenia, the foreign policy, and to submit your proposals,” G. Chugaszyan told rally participants.
As was reported, opponents of the constitutional reform in Armenia set up ‘No’ Front that currently includes two camps. The first is ‘New Armenia’ Public Salvation Front established by opposition Heritage Party and opposition civic initiative Founding Parliament. The second camp is ‘No’ movement formed by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and People’s Party of Armenia, which already created a joint office for campaigning ahead of the referendum.
