It snows in most regions of Armenia, no roads closed
It was snowing as of 9:30 am today in most regions of Armenia, according to the press service of Ministry of Transport and Communication.
Strong winds and low visibility are reported on Maralik-Lanjik motorway, roads in Talin, Gyumri, Ashotsk, Aragats, Gavar regions and the Vardeniats mountain pass. Some sections of Vardeniats pass are covered with black ice. All interstate and republican motorways in Armenia are open to traffic.
Snow and ice removal operations are underway to ensure safe driving conditions. Armenian drivers are urged to use only winter tires.
Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is closed to all types of vehicles, according to Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry.
