Police explain reason for detention of G. Yeghiazaryan, participant of rally against constitutional reform
Oppositionist Gagik Yeghiazaryan was taken to a police station from a rally in Liberty Square of Yerevan under Article 182 of Armenia’s Code of Administrative Offences - failure to obey a lawful order of law enforcement bodies responsible for the maintenance of public order, Panorama.am learned from the press service of the Armenian police.
It emerged earlier today that the police seized 4 tables and chairs from the participants of a rally in Yerevan’s Liberty Square and also detained Gagik Yeghiazaryan, a member of the campaign office of a camp of No Front. Opposition political figure Andreas Ghukasyan announced this during an event staged by opponents of the constitutional reform in Armenia.
On December 1 ‘New Armenia’ Public Salvation Front began an indefinite rally in Liberty Square. “New Armenia’ Front includes Founding Parliament civic initiative, ‘Stand Up, Armenia!’ civic movement, and opposition Heritage Party.
