Zhoghovurd: ENA made profit of over 31 billion drams in nine months of 2015
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper writes that according to a report of Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission, Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) Company made a net profit of over 31 billion drams in the first nine months of 2015. If nothing serious happens in ENA before the end of the year, the company’s net profit will reach about 100 million drams in late 2015.
The paper reminds its readers that in the spring of this year ENA filed an application requesting an increase in power tariffs due to the company’s losses.
It becomes clear from the aforesaid that that ENA earns super profits, rather than operates at a loss. It should also be mentioned that 91% of the electricity supplied to consumers over nine months of this year was so-called cheap power produced by Armenian Nuclear Power Plant and hydropower plants. EMA sells electricity bought for 5-8 drams at the price of 49 drams to consumers.
