Several roads closed and barely passable in Armenia
Roads in Gorsi region were covered with ice as of 10:00 am today. It was snowing in Martuni region, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Transport and Communication.
Snow and ice removal operations are underway to ensure safe driving conditions.
Most motorways in Armenia were passable as of 9:00 am on December 5, Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations reported. Vardeniats mountain pass and Berd-Chambarak motorway are closed. Sotk-Karvachar and Tigranashen-Yeraskh motorways are barely passable. Portions of roads in Lori and Syunik provinces, 22nd-24th section of Yerevan-Sevan highway, serpentine road in Dilijan, and Hrazdan-Hankavan motorways are covered with black ice.
Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is closed to all types of vehicles, according to Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry.
