Voter turnout in Armenian constitutional referendum was 39.17% as of 5:00 pm
As of 5:00 pm, 1,005,333 voters or 39.17% of the total number of the eligible voters participated in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of Armenia, Secretary of Armenia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Armen Smbatyan announced.
According to data released by the Armenian police yesterday, on December 5, there are 2,550,323 voters included in the Voter Register of the Republic of Armenia.
Under the Law on Referendum, the draft submitted to referendum is considered as adopted if more than half of the voters voted for it, but not less than one third of the citizens included in the lists.
Voting in the national referendum on the constitutional amendments started at 1,997 polling stations across Armenia at 8:00 am on Sunday, December 6. Six international and 18 local observer organizations are observing the referendum. Voting will end at 8:00 pm Yerevan time.
