Azerbaijani troops continue violating intensively ceasefire, NKR Army soldier wounded
Given the complex geopolitical situation in the region and in an attempt to hinder the events of state importance in Armenia and Artsakh, Azerbaijani troops continue to destabilize the situation along the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan by intensively violating the ceasefire while using small arms of various calibers, mortars, and rockets, according to the press service of the Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
Yesterday, on December 5, and on the night of December 6 Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire about 180 times on the line of contact.
During that period Azerbaijani frontline units fired over 3,500 shots at Armenian positions from small arms of various calibers, 60mm (69 shells), 82mm (229 shells) and 120mm mortars (40 shells), and RPG-7 (1 shell) and AGS-17 grenade launchers (142 shells). Besides, the enemy used Turkish-made TR-107 rocket launcher (24 shells).
Varazdat Khachatryan, 20, a serviceman of the NKR Defense Army, was wounded in a shell explosion around 6:45 pm on December 5 as a result of artillery shelling from the Azerbaijani side.
