Aharonyan: All calls about voting irregularities examined by police
The Armenian police are monitoring all the calls about voting irregularities during the referendum on constitutional amendments.
“We are following mass media reports, statements on the social media, and alarm calls of NGOs. All the calls have been examined,” the head of the press service of Armenian police Ashot Aharonyan told Panorama.am.
Panorama.am learned that the police hot line received 26 calls calls from 10 Armenian regions and 16 calls from the city of Yerevan as of 2:00 pm December 6, “Residents of several areas adjacent to Yerevan said they came to Yerevan on business and they would like to know if they could vote in the referendum in Yerevan, “ the police employee said regarding the contents of phone calls.
A citizen informed the police that he saw the name of his late sister born in 1931 in a voter list.
A group of citizens wanted to get information about the electoral districts they were registered in.
A man found out at the polling station that he was not included in the voter list.
Several citizens asked for the phone numbers of Visa and Passport Department of the Armenian Police. The police official said that information was provided in response to all the calls made to the hotline.
As was reported, on December 5 the police launched a hotline on 010-54-69-12 and 010-54-69-14 in order to respond promptly to questions related to the preparation and conduct of the constitutional referendum in Armenia. An English and French speaking hotline 010-52-42-28 is available for international observer missions, and a Russian speaking hotline 010-57-31-39 is available for CIS observer missions.
