Results of electronic voting in Armenia’s constitutional referendum: 229 votes for and 7 against
The Central Commission for the Referendum on the Constitutional Reform in Armenia conducted an extraordinary sitting, at which a protocol of electronic voting results was made. 265 citizens such as diplomats and Armenian citizens living abroad were included in the list of voters eligible to vote electronically. 245 of them participated in the referendum. 229 citizens said ‘yes’ to the draft constitutional amendments, 7 said ‘no’. 9 ballots were recognized as invalid.
Under the law, electronic voting starts 9 days before the process of voting in the territory of Armenia and is completed in 5 days. Electronic voting in Armenia’s constitutional referendum began on November 27 and ended on December 1. The results are summarized after voting in Armenia is completed.
Voting in the national referendum on the constitutional amendments started at 1,997 polling stations across Armenia at 8:00 am on Sunday, December 6. Six international and 18 local observer organizations were observing the referendum. Voting ended at 8:00 pm Yerevan time. Head of Central Election Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan said that 1,296,368 voters or 50.51% of the total number of the eligible voters voted in the referendum as of 8:00 pm.
