Domestically produced computers should be used in Armenian government and parliament, MP says
Deputy of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) faction of Armenia’s National Assembly Artsvik Minasyan positively assessed the bill on amendments to the Law on VAT. The bill was debated in the parliament today.
He at the same time said that it should have been indicated in the bill how much the proposed amendments could encourage trade. “It is important to know whether or not the bill will contribute to economic development. If we look at the issue in this context, we will see that it is a component of a general policy, but unfortunately, I did not hear such an approach,’ he said.
According to Minasyan, there is an enterprise in Armenia (editor: Armtab) that manufactures computers and tablet PCs, while the parliament and government need to use domestically made computers.
“Domestically made computers should be available here. Regardless of what approach applied to imports, only an encouraging policy shall be conducted with respect to domestic products,” he said.
“A concept showing how we promote the sales of domestic goods should be developed in the field of trade,” Artsvik Minasyan said, adding that the goal of Ministry of Economy is to boost development of the economy, including trade.
