Head of EU Delegation in Armenia highlights role of civil society in fight against corruption
If Armenia fails to combat corruption effectively, it will not be able to develop dynamically, Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski said today during a workshop on the opportunities and challenges of establishing an independent institutional system for the fight against corruption in Armenia.
He said that the EU is prepared to assist Armenia in combating corruption, which is a priority for the EU Delegation.
P. Switalski stressed the role of civil society in the fight against corruption, noting that it is hard to achieve satisfactory results in anti-corruption efforts without mobilizing public opinion.
In his words, the statement made by Armenia’s justice minister and deputy justice minister are encouraging and contain an important message.
