V. Babayan: Prosperous Armenia won’t join ANC initiative to dispute referendum results in court
The opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) has no intention of joining ‘out of solidarity’ the initiative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) that has begun collecting signatures in order to dispute the results of the December 6 constitutional referendum in the Constitutional Court of Armenia, MP of the PAP faction Vahan Babayan said today during a briefing in the National Assembly of Armenia.
As was reported, ANC has initiated signature collection to ask the Constitutional Court of Armenia to declare the results of the December 6 constitutional referendum null and void. Ten MPs have so far joined the ANC’s initiative.
The Central Election Commission of Armenia on Sunday, December 13, approved the final results of the December 6 referendum on constitutional amendments. 825,521 voters (63.37%) voted for the constitutional reform in Armenia, 421,568 people (32.36%) voted against.
