NKR Defense Ministry: Armenian side took punitive actions, stopped activity of Azerbaijani troops
In addition to subversive actions, yesterday on December 17 and the night of December 18 the Azerbaijani side continued to violate intensively the ceasefire by using various types of weapons, the press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic reported.
During that period Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire about 235 times on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani frontline units fired over 5,000 shots at Armenian positions from small arms of various calibers, 60mm (373 shells), 82mm (189 shells) and 120mm mortars (15 shells), and SPG-9 (3 shells), AGS-17 (19 shells) and RPG-7 grenade launchers (13 shells).
The offensive operations of Azerbaijani troops were halted as a result of punitive actions taken by the frontline units of NKER Defense Army.
