Armenian FM: Azerbaijan slapped OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs in the face
The OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs sharply raised the issue of tanks’ use before Azerbaijan today and in many of their previous statements. The correspondent of Panorama.am reports from Bern that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said this today during a conversation with journalists, when summarizing the results of the summit of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, held in Bern today.
The FM reminded the reporters about the Belgrade statement of the OSCE Minsk Group. The statement contained clear and harsh criticism about the use of artillery and weapons of various calibers. “It is clear who the addressee is. In fact, in response to that Azerbaijan slapped the Co-chairs in the face, escalated the situation even more and began using new types of weapons. Such is Azerbaijan’s answer to efforts of the international community,” Nalbandyan said noting that it is the OSCE that represents the international community and has a relevant mandate.
As regards the optimistic statements of the U.S. Co-chair James Warlick, Nalbandyan said: “As a rule, diplomats are optimists, otherwise they will not be diplomats”.
