James Warlick: Sides to work in 2016 towards a negotiated settlement
“The #Armenia-#Azerbaijan summit concluded with a toast to 2016 to work towards a negotiated settlement,” the U.S. Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick said on Twitter after the meeting of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Bern today.
“The @OSCE Co-Chairs will issue a statement on the #Armenia-#Azerbaijan summit later today ,” he tweeted shortly afterwards.
As was reported, Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, held talks on a settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem. The talks with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs took place in Bern today, on December 19. The meeting started with the participation of the Co-chairs James Warlick of the United States, Igor Popov of Russia, Pierre Andrieu of France, and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
In Bern, the Armenian president also met with Head of Switzerland’s Department of Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter.
