Authorities have to ensure peace, while the rest will be done by businessmen: Misak Balasanyan
After the reception hosted today by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the owner of Gyumri Beer Factory and ‘Sevan’ Mineral Water Factory Misak Balasanyan told reporters that in 2015 he opened two new factories and he is optimistic about his business prospects.
According to the businessman, he created 200 new jobs this year by opening ‘Sevan’ mineral water factory and a confectionary plant.
“As regards ‘Sevan’ mineral water factory, I should say that I cannot complain about exports: it is a newly-opened factory, and the products are new so I am satisfied with exports. Mineral waters are exported mostly to Russia and Eurasian Economic Union countries,” he noted.
According to Balasanyan, exports of ‘Gyumri’ beers remained at last year’s level.
“The problem was not that we failed to export, but that we were not interested in increasing our exports as there were risks related to the rate of the Russian ruble,” Balasanyan said. He expressed hope that next year will prove more favorable for them, adding that nonetheless, everything depends on the factory as well.
“The factory should do everything for its products to enter new markets. The President said today that our big business conquered its markets to some extent and now its goal is to enter new markets. In this sense, all that our country’s authorities have to do is to ensure peace, while the rest should be undertaken by businessmen,” he said.
