Armenian parliament speaker: Higher educational system is driving force of the state
Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Chairman of the Council of Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Galust Sahakyan attended a sitting of the ASPU Council on December 23, the press service of Armenian parliament said.
The council heard a report given by ASPU Rector R. Mirzakhanyan about the university’s activities in 2015, then held a vote, assessing the work as satisfactory. The ASPU budget for 2016 was also approved by the Council.
When answering the questions of Council members, Galust Sahakyan said: ‘The creation of a strong generation and a powerful state depends on teachers who educate the nation. The educational environment shapes and guides society”.
The NA speaker called the higher educational system the driving force of the state, noting that ASPU is a forge of future teachers.
