Armenian media monitoring platform intends to enter global market
Rumors Monitoring is developed by Rumors IT company. It’s a newonline service which carries out multilingual media monitoring through anautomated system as well as data and statistics analysis and real-time updates.
Panorama.am talked to co-founder of Rumors Monitoring Mushegh Gevorgyan.
With similar tools on the market, why should you choose RM?
In fact, there are currently other monitoring tools on the market. Taking this into account, our platform has introduced new algorithms, which allows making the searches more precise and eliminates the so-called external noise. RM platform is multilingual and at the same time has regional separation, so that you can exactly see all the articles in the chosen region. Another differentiation would be possibility of using association and context features. This narrows down your results as per your request. Moreover, you get access to the archive of the past publications, which may be deleted from the original source: none of the existing tools has these features.
What made you invest your time and resources in this project?
In the dynamic and competitive environment, everyone needs to be well-informed to be successful. The Armenian market is still developing and our idea is to provide the market players with such a tool that will assist in being more proactive, competitive and make the marketplace more elastic. This will allow us to be more prepared for stretching out to international markets.
Who are your potential clients?
Our tool is multi-profile. It can be used in any sphere starting from telecom to state organizations. Anyone who is alert to media will benefit from our service. Any PR event can be monitored and evaluated by the use of Rumors Monitoring.
Is the platform already operating or is it still in the testing phase?
The platform is properly operating and we already have customers who use the platform. This month, we organized a public event to meet our existing and potential customers. We presented our new packages to enable customers to use what they need. Besides our official three packs we offer a custom package where you can simply choose the desired features. Every day we work on the platform, improving and shaping it.
As you have mentioned, the platform supports only Armenian online media. Are you also going to support social media such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc?
Now we support about 70 Armenian media and the list is constantly being updated. The customer can easily request a new source and it will be added in due course. We plan to expand the monitoring in near future. Meanwhile, we understand that some might need to monitor some portals of our neighboring countries and for this purpose we allow our users to add desired sources. As for the social media integration, we currently work on it and in early 2016, we will have updates.
Has the tool been presented outside Armenia?
As of now, we actively work with the Armenian market and plan to enter foreign markets whenever are able to attract the required resources. The platform was presented at Wolves Summit in Gdansk, Poland. Being a part of international startup ecosystem is also important. In Gdansk, we met successful IT company owners and got insights of business development and market acquisition. We still keep in touch with some members who are interested in future of our product.
What is the main goal of your team?
Our key idea is to contribute to the development of our country, create workplaces and equip the market with instruments that will make it more attractive for international investors. The desire of bringing up our children in Armenia keeps us motivated to create something valuable that can drive changes instead of finding a dream-life abroad. We truly believe that Armenia has a strong potential in terms of young professionals, and we want to prove it.
