Haykakan Zhamanak: Vakhtang Abrahamyan may be appointed as Central Bank chairman
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes that Vakhtang Abrahamyan, a member of the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), was appointed deputy chairman of CBA yesterday by a decree of President Serzh Sargsyan. This appointment did not come as a surprise to members of financial circles.
“It is rumored that Vakhtang Abrahamyan will be appointed CBA chairman later. The current chairman of CBA Arthur Javadyan was reappointed to that post for a 6-year term in May last year. There are also rumors that Javadyan may resign ahead of time,” the daily says.
