Agricultural year was successful in Armenia: agriculture minister says
The agricultural year has been successful in Armenia, Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan said today during a press conference when summarizing the 2015 results.
16.6% growth was reported in Armenia’s agricultural sector in January-November 2015 thanks to good weather conditions, the minister said. He indicated an increase in cultivated lands as the major achievement of this year.
“We set ourselves the goal of reducing uncultivated lands,” S. Karapetyan said.
According to him, progress has been made in virtually all spheres of the agriculture.
The minister also spoke about activities of agricultural cooperatives, noting that cooperatives have developed considerably in the past 4 years in Armenia, leading in an increase in citizens’ incomes.
