Paris terrorist attack ‘miracle woman’ shot six times at Bataclan wakes from coma
A 31-year-old woman, Laura Croix, was at the Bataclan theater in Paris when terrorists entered the building and began shooting. Croix was shot six times in the chest and abdomen but somehow survived the horror attack. Despite surviving, Croix was in a coma for weeks and was not expected to recover.
However, two weeks ago on December 10, Croix woke from her coma to the surprise of her doctors. Croix is now being dubbed the “miracle woman” of the Bataclan and has began speaking out about the attack and her ongoing nightmares about the deadly night in the theater.
The Daily Mail reports that Laura Croix, 31, was at the Bataclan theater on November 13 when terrorists entered the building and began shooting the concert-goers there to watch the American band, Eagles of Death Metal. Croix was shot three times in the chest and then an additional three times in the abdomen. She also fractured an arm and a hip and severed two of her fingers during the attack. Croix was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and doctors say they were forced to perform a tracheotomy to save her life.
Croix then went into a coma and remained so until December 10, when she woke from her coma and began communicating with family members. Doctors say that Croix’s recovery is a “miracle” and that she is now communicating with family members and discussing the attack that almost killed her. Croix says she has nonstop nightmares about the attack and says that, though she didn’t know the full extent of the devastation in which 130 people were killed and 352 were injured, she did recall the devastation around her in the Bataclan.
